Reaching New Heights he accessible bath changed years ago from a sterile, functional design to one that is warm and inviting – thanks, in large part, to the evolution of the products being incorporated into the space. Universal Design elements such as single-lever and touchless faucets, low-threshold showers and right-height toilets are fnding their way into even the poshest designs due to their high-end style, as more homeowners opt for safety for their families but refuse to compromise on aesthetics. The number of products that are now at home in accessible bath design are seemingly limitless. This month, KBDN looks at a variety of products for the bath that blend ease of accessibility and beautiful design. 1. This above-foor rough shower pan works as a tub replacement with above-foor rough plumbing when relocating is not an option. From Best Bath Systems, the pan installs easily, is mold and mildew resistant and is available with right or left drain locations. A threshold of less than 6" reduces the risk of slips and falls, providing additional safety. CIRCLE NO. 200 ON PRODUCT CARD 2. The Kallista Foundational Slidebars, available in Traditional and Contemporary, fea- ture an intuitive patent-pending handshower height adjustment system for single-hand operation. The lever control is concealed behind the bar in a CAM-lock design that prevents free fall and is ADA compliant. The unit features a rectangular bar that is con- nected to the water supply, allowing for height adjustment of a handshower or wand. CIRCLE NO. 201 ON PRODUCT CARD 3. Kartell by Laufen Disc faucet line showcases a removable integrated disc that acts as an accessory. The line includes all faucets with disc incorporated, including washbasin faucets and a bidet faucet. This small round tray installed on the faucet is available in two sizes and is made of transparent plastic. CIRCLE NO. 202 ON PRODUCT CARD 4. Delta Faucet Co. has introduced FlushIQ Technology. The toilet features Overfow Protection, which uses a sensor that monitors the water level and prevents fushing if the level rises to a critical point. With Leak Detection, a sensor identifes when the water lev- el drops. Touch-Free Flush also allows the toilet to fush with a simple wave of the hand. CIRCLE NO. 203 ON PRODUCT CARD 5. Well suited for a range of bathroom styles, the Aylesbury shower system from Newport Brass provides various options in ADA-compliant cross or lever handle with diverter pull-knob. The showerhead features a 2.0 gallons per minute maximum fow rate. The system is available in 27 fnishes. CIRCLE NO. 204 ON PRODUCT CARD 6. Designed as a replacement to bathtubs in older homes, Sterling's Ensemble 60"x32" shower includes the shower base and walls, as well as a freestanding seat. The base includes an end drain and a safer entry and exit with its 31-1" threshold. The back wall features a curve design and multiple shelves. Ensemble is available in two neutral colors – White and Kohler Biscuit. CIRCLE NO. 205 ON PRODUCT CARD 7. TOTO's three Oberon Polished Chrome faucets feature durable metal bodies and ceramic disk mixing cartridges, along with a single-handle design. These Universal Design faucets' control lever may be easily manipulated by anyone regardless of age or ability level, according to the frm. WaterSense-certifed, the faucets consume 1.5 gallons per minute. CIRCLE NO. 206 ON PRODUCT CARD 8. The DIVA faucet from California Faucets features an elegant form that is crafted from solid brass. The DIVA series has an ensemble that includes low- and high-spout faucets, state-of-the-art StyleTherm fttings, Roman tub sets and coordinating accesso- ries.
