Hansgrohe Taps Design Winners NEW YORK — Hansgrohe USA has announced the results of its third annual hansgrohe + AXOR Das Design Competition. Open to U.S. architects and designers, the competition celebrates ex- cellence in design, sustainability and installation of Hansgrohe and AXOR products in built proj- ects. A jury of established trade and shelter media, and Hans- grohe representatives named one winner and three honorable mentions in the Residential Cat- egory, as well as one winner and one honorable mention in the Hospitality Category. The 2016 Residential winner was the firm PS Modern, LLC of Palm Springs, CA, for its "Cami- no Norte Residence" project. The firm incorporated the following collections into its winning de- sign: AXOR LampShower by Nendo, AXOR Urquiola, AXOR Tile Contest Call for Entries N E W YO R K — The Ceram- ics of Italy Tile Competition is now accepting entries for 2017. In its 24th year, the annu- al awards program asks North American-based architects and designers to submit their most innovative and sustainable proj- ects from the past five years that incorporate Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. Projects that pre- dominantly feature Italian tile will be evaluated by an interna- tional jury of design experts in the residential, institutional and commercial categories. Projects can be newly built or renovated, domestic or international. One grand prize winner in each category will be honored with $3,000; a trip to Coverings in Orlando, and a CEU-accredited trip to Cersaie in Bologna, Italy – with a delegation of architects, designers and design media. A handful of honorable mentions will be selected and the winning contractor/distributor teams will also be rewarded. The deadline for entry is Jan. 6, 2017.
