ClosetMaid Introduces New Continuing Education Course OCALA, FL — ClosetMaid has created a brand new AIA/CES and IDCEC continuing education course for architects and inte- rior designers. The one-credit-hour course, titled "Maximizing Space, Sustainability, Value and Aesthetics with Manufac- tured Storage Systems," is presented in streaming HD video. Available free of charge for all building and design profes- sionals, the course is presented by Scott Davis, v.p. of product development and marketing at ClosetMaid. Viewers can download a PDF Study Guide to accompany the streaming video. The AIA/CES version is designed for architects and the IDCEC version for interior designers. The course explores the problem of today's "clutter crisis" and how better storage design is the solution. Professionals will learn about the diferent materials used in storage sys- tems and benefts of manufactured storage systems over built-in-place alternatives in residential and non-residential applications. Viewers who pass the quiz will receive either AIA/CES credit or IDCEC credit and a Certifcate of Completion from The Continuing Architect. Elmira Announces Winners of FabForty Anniversary Competition ELMIRA, ON — Elmira Stove Works has announced the winners of its FabForty sweepstakes. The sweepstakes ofered participants a chance to win a Northstar Model 1949 refrigerator in Candy Red, the brand's signature color. Elmira Stove Works selected one winner from the U.S. and one from Canada. Kassandra Polk of Pennsylvania and Karla Sceviour of Newfoundland were the winners from more than 130,000 entrees. When asked about the inspiration for the FabFor- ty sweepstakes, Elmira Stove Works' Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tony Dowling said, "This was our way of saying 'thank you' to our many customers and fans for a fun and prosperous 40 years of business. We have shifted our style and added many new products over the years, and our consumers have been supportive and loyal through it all." Perlick Names Winner of #HowDoYouPerlick Contest MILWAUKEE, WI — Perlick re- cently announced the winner of its #HowDoYouPerlick Design Contest at KBIS in January. Richard Thomas Anuszkiewicz of Annapolis, MD- b a s e d A l t B re e d i n g S c h w a r z Architects won for his "Cart Before the Horse" Bar Cart. Featuring the Perlick Signature Series Dual-Zone Freezer/Refrigerator Drawers, Anuszkiewicz's design was a liter- al take on the expression, "putting the cart before the horse." Cus- tom wood door overlays, a leather countertop and gold accents in the hardware, sink and faucet were ac- cented with an equestrian print. For his winning design, Anuszkiewicz receives the Perlick product of his choice. The contest tasked the de- sign community with designing a vignette highlighting Perlick Refrig- eration and Beverage Dispensers in each of the following categories: kitchen, outdoor, entertainment and rest of home. From the entries received, four finalists had their designs built into the Perlick booth at KBIS. In addition to Anuszkiewicz, the fnalists included: Michele Alfano from MODmadeNY Studio; Patricia Davis Brown, NCIDQ, CKD, CBD of Patricia Davis Brown Designs LLC, and Rose Dostal, AIA, ASID of RMD Designs LLC. "We were thrilled with the designs from each of the fnalists," said Tim Ebner, v.p. of Perlick's marketing and business development. "Each vignette told a story. When you walked into our booth at KBIS, you had a distinct sense of the person who lived there and how they utilized the Perlick products featured in it." The winner of the #HowDoYouPerlick Design Contest was determined following a popular vote during KBIS 2016. The winner was announced during a ceremony on Wednes- day, January 20. Heather Kirk Riley of Kirk Riley Design, Residential + Commercial Interiors, was the winner of the #HowDo YouPerlick Instagram contest. She won a $100 gift card to wine.com.
