Duravit Designer Dream Bath Competition DURAVIT SHOWCASED ITS third annual Designer Dream Bath Competition during 2015, adding a new category to spice up the competition. The contest encourages architects and designers to reimagine their own personal bathroom spaces using Duravit's latest collections – Cape Cod, ME by Starck and L-Cube. Participants are invited to submit a sketch or rendering of their dream bath featuring these products. The winner, Mark Mangapora of Fenton, MI, received $10,000 toward the Duravit products of his choice, as well as professional photography of the completed project. This year's contest also included a category for built projects. Entrants were invited to submit a completed project from the past year that featured Duravit products in the design. An award of $5,000 worth of Duravit products was presented to Houston- based Intexure. In the new Built project category of the Duravit Designer Dream Bath Competition for 2015, Houston-based Intexure's house project included several bathrooms that featured a range of Duravit collections. In one bath (left), a double sink countertop with hidden drains hovers above a foating vanity used for storage. The light wood of the vanity is continued on an adjacent wall with mirror. On the opposite wall, a freestanding tub rests against a sheet of foor- to-ceiling glass tile in a soothing green/blue. In another bath (above), a dark-toned vanity plays against the neutral tones of the fxtures and tile. Mark Mangapora of Fenton, MI received the top prize for the Unbuilt category in the Duravit Designer Dream Bath Competition. Mangapora's rendering showcased an unusual tub and shower combination, featuring a large shower with bench tucked next to a soaking tub for two. Both are fnished in rectangular tile in a soft tone. On the opposite wall, an L-Cube foating vanity in a light wood adds a natural yet modern feel, highlighted by the Cape Cod sink and mirror with lighting. Pieces from all three of the Duravit collections are used to solve design problems and integrate texture and light.
