June 2015 | ForResidentialPros.com | 15 Coverings Has Strong Showing Alexandria, VA — Coverings, the largest international tile and stone exhibition in North America, has re- ported increased attendance and exhibitor numbers for its 2015 show in Orlando. More than 25,000 industry professionals attended the week-long expo, which took place from April 13-17, 2015. Attendance generated a 10-percent increase from the 2014 show in Las Vegas and a 12-percent increase from 2012, the last year Cover- ings was held in Orlando, according to show organizers. In addition to attendee growth, Coverings 2015 experienced a surge in the number of exhibitors show- casing innovative new products. In total, Coverings hosted 1,094 exhibi- tors from 41 countries, representing a 12-percent growth from 2014. Exhibit space spanned 440,000 net square- feet – an 18-percent increase in show foor space from last year. "The strong attendance at this year's Coverings is a valid indicator of growth in the tile and stone in- dustry – overall, this was our largest show since 2008," said Karin Fendrich, Coverings show director. "With a leg- acy of more than a dozen successful shows in Orlando, we were thrilled to make the return to this market for the 2015 show. We're looking forward to building on this year's achievements when the show moves to Chicago in 2016." Coverings 2016 will be held April 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago. MSI Opens LA Distribution Center Los Angeles, CA — MSI has opened its newest distribution center, located in Los Angeles, CA. The 80,000-sq.-ft. facility will stock a full ofering of MSI prod- uct lines including slabs, fooring, wall tile/mosaics and hardscap- ing made from natural stone, quartz, porcelain and ceramic. The facility features a state- of-the-art showroom exhibiting the latest products as well as in- spiration for product selection. Displayed in the slab selection center are over 250 colors of materials imported from 36 dif- ferent countries. According to Raj Shah, co- president of M S International Inc., "MSI is committed to bring- ing a new level of service and products in the surfacing indus- try to the Los Angeles region. This region is home to over 13 million people who historically have used more granite, quartz and hard fooring products than other parts of North America."
