14 | Kitchen & Bath Design News January 2015 Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } KBDN -SEN Seminars Kick Of Next Month Wilmette, IL — Next month marks the kickof for the 2015 series of all-day seminars brought to the market under the terms of an exclusive educational partnership between Kitchen & Bath Design News and the SEN Design Group. The seminar series, scheduled for six sessions this year, will be presented at the Cosentino/Silestone showrooms in the following markets: à February 25, Anaheim. à April 29, Miami. à May 13, Washington, DC. à June 3, Detroit. à October 7, Chicago. à October 28, Phoenix. Titled "Learn How to Double Your Sales Volume Using a Proven Selling System," the program will be led by SEN President Ken Peterson, CKD. Created specifcally for showroom owners, managers and sales designers, the programs focus on how kitchen and bath dealers can improve closing percentages, sales volume and gross margins by implementing a well-thought-out selling system keyed to today's market. Eight New Cities Targeted For 2015 Seminar Series Wilmette, IL — Beginning next month, eight new cities will be targeted for the 2015 edition of "Art + Science," the series of all-day seminars being presented by Kitchen & Bath Design News in key metropolitan markets this year. The highly acclaimed seminar series, sched- uled to kick off next month in Miami, will be brought to cities that also include New Orleans, Indianapolis, Nashville, Cleveland, Kansas City, Baltimore/Washington, DC and San Diego, accord- ing to KBDN Publisher Emeritus Eliot Sefrin. Tentative 2015 dates and targeted cities are: à February 26, Miami. à March 26, New Orleans. à April 16, Indianapolis. à May 8, Nashville. à June 18, Cleveland. à September 25, Kansas City. à October 29, Baltimore/Washington, DC. à November 19, San Diego. Specifc hotel locations, along with co-sponsor- ing kitchen/bath suppliers, will be announced in the near future, according to Sefrin. "Art + Science" – subtitled "How Contemporary Design & Cutting-Edge Technology Can Increase Profts & Resonate With Today's New Clients" – was rolled out in 2013 to rave reviews and a record num- ber of sponsors. The program enters its third year in 2015, having previously visited 16 markets. Aimed at kitchen and bath designers looking to refresh their creative talents and expand their technological skills, "Art + Science" is targeted at identifying "what's next" in design and technology so that design professionals can better address the needs of a younger, less-traditional client while increasing company profts in the New Digital Age. Top Knobs and Atlas Homewares Merge Hillsborough, NJ — Atlas Homewares and Top Knobs, a Harbour Group company, jointly announced the merger of the two companies. Together, the Atlas and Top Knobs brands, along with the Jefrey Alexander and Elements brands from sister company Hardware Resources, represent an extensive selection of cabinet knobs and pulls and decorative hardware accessories. Atlas will maintain its warehouse and ofce in California, and Top Knobs will continue to operate its warehouse and ofce in New Jersey. Artisan Group Raises Money For Veterans Austin, TX — Artisan Group counter top f ab r ic ator s a c r o ss A m e r i c a r a is e d $28,000 at the group's fourth national granite yard sale, "Counters For A Cause," to help Homes for Our Troops build specially adapted homes for veterans. Homeowners purchased pieces of stone remnants and slabs at discounted prices and helped veterans with each sale. Artisan Group members have raised a total of more than $115,000 with the four yard sales. NKBA Names 2015 Executive Committee Hackensack, NJ — The National Kitchen & Bath Association has announced its 2015 Executive Committee, which for the frst time includes two members from the manufacturers' member segment. The Committee will be led by 2015 President Maria Stapperfenne, CKD, CBD, of Whitehouse Station, NJ. Mark Kovich, of Winchester, VA, was named 2015 president-elect, and Denise Dick, CMKBD, of Carrollton, TX, will serve as v.p. Lorenzo Marquez, of Sugar Land, TX, will assume the role of treasurer, and Blue Arnold, CKD, CBD, of Jarrettsville, MD, will hold the position of secretary. John A.
