Creative Countertop Designs
⊕ The full-overlay, rift-sawn walnut veneer vertical
grain and milk white fat-panel fnishes on the
cabinetry set an interesting contrasting tone in
this contemporary kitchen by Blue Bell Kitchens
in Springhouse, PA. Marble countertops provide
an additional contrast against the dark perimeter
cabinetry, while Blizzard White quartz surfaces
from Caesarstone wrap the two islands, creating
a waterfall efect. "A sit-in eating area at one end
of an island is constructed of solid walnut and
features a 2-1/2" edge grain walnut surface top with
a Durata satin fnish," ofers Lynne Kaltman.
⊕ This kitchen by Ken Kelly, CKD, CBD, CR and Taine D'Agostino, CKD, ASID, NCIDQ of
Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly in Williston Park and Sag Harbor, NY features Classic French
Country cabinetry. Costa Esmaralda granite countertops are featured along the perimeter
and in the main portion of the island. On each end of the island, the designers included
two raised butcher block countertops in cherry so that two chefs can work in the kitchen.
"The creative process resulted in an elegant kitchen with character, sensible design and
understated elegance," note the designers.
⊕ Sawhill's Sarah Maly used two quartz surfaces to add
interest and delineate the eating area from the prep area
in this contemporary kitchen. "The two interlocking shapes
add a juxtaposition to a very linear kitchen," Maly reports.
