The 2014 program kicked of during a special event held recently at the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in New York City, where Silestone was featured in the kitchen. The fve Trendspotters repre- sent program veterans and new additions, each with distinct de- sign aesthetics from fve key U.S. markets: New York, Chicago, Sac- ramento, Austin and Atlanta. The group – comprised of Courtney Ca- chet, Julia Buckingham Edelmann, Kerrie Kelly, Kim Lewis and Mark Williams – will continually share their design inspiration and trends using the hashtag #Silestone Trends via social media and through the program's dedicated Web site, This year's program will also le- verage the Trendspotters' design expertise and regional market insight to develop the next color se- ries for the Silestone natural quartz line, which will be unveiled at KBIS 2015 next January in Las Vegas. "We are excited to continue with the Silestone Trendspotters program and add another layer to the program this year," said Lorenzo Marquez, v.p. of marketing for Cosentino Nor th America. "We're looking forward to working together with the Trendspotters to develop a truly interesting ofering that will resonate across the nation." After collaborating with Valen- tin Tijeras Garcia, Cosentino's head of product development, for a cre- ative design session in New York City, the trendspotters are sched- uled to travel to Cosentino's global headquarters in Almeria, Spain to test their initial colors. The fnal hues will be tested in the market- place and sent into production in time for the unveiling at KBIS. The inaugural Silestone Trendspot- ters program was launched in 2012 at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago with four leading design- ers who were sent to scour the show and report back in their local market. The program continued in 2013 with three designers, who attended Dwell on Design to spot their favorite fnds and also report their insights locally.
