14 | Kitchen & Bath Design News July 2014 Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } 2020 Alters Brand Laval, QC — 2020 Technologies has announced a new brand platform for the company, using 2020 as its new name for marketing purposes as well as a new logo, Web site and visual identity. The changes are designed to highlight the integration and breadth of 2020's solutions portfolio and connect more efectively with the 2020 user community. "Our new brand platform will help signify to the market that we have renewed energy and momentum in providing the best products and solutions in our industry," comment - ed Mark Goldstein, 2020 CEO. Corsi Acquires Virginia Plant Indianapolis, IN — The Corsi Group has acquired a new manufacturing plant in Keysville, VA, where it will manufacture a full-access cabinet product to meet the needs of builders and fast-paced remodeling companies. Production is anticipated to begin in the 4th quarter of this year. Duravit USA Announces Dream Bath Competition New York, NY — Following a successful launch in 2013, Duravit USA, Inc. has announced its sec- ond annual Designer Dream Bath Competition. The program invites architects and designers to imagine their ideal bath space using a selection of Duravit collections. Par ticipants are asked to use their own bathroom as a basis for their designs, and must submit a rendering or sketch illustrating the potential transformation with the imple- mentation of Duravit products. The winner will be awarded the Duravit items used in his or her project up to a value of $15,000. Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder re- marked, "We were blown away by the success of our frst competition, so we are excited to bring it back for 2014. Not only does the competition help a designer's dream become a reality, but it also brings the Duravit brand closer to home as they get to know our aesthetic and understand the scope of application with our products." The entry process asks designers to submit two views minimum (rendering or sketch and foor plan) and a "before" image, as well as a brief submission form including challenges, objec- tives and project details. The winner will be announced during Duravit Design Week, October 6-8 2014 at Duravit's New York City showroom. The frst competition in 2013 received more than 25 submissions from across North Amer- ica. The panel of judges comprised architects and top design media Annie Block (Interior De- sign), Edda Elias (Elias Associates), Marc Kushner (Architizer), Paul Makovsky (Metropolis) and Sharon McHugh (World Architecture News). Cri- teria included creatively using Duravit products, overcoming design challenges and overall in- novation. Winner Nicolas Kof, who was selected for his focus on environmentally friendly think- ing and Universal Design, is currently at work on making his dream bath a reality with his Duravit product prize.
