"What makes this showroom Marble Institute Releases Survey Cleveland, OH — The Marble In- stitute of America has released its 2013 Fabricator Benchmark- ing Survey, which was sponsored by Cosentino NA and Kohler Co. The 2013 survey had a record number of participants. Participa- tion in the survey was available for free to all fabricators in North America, and the resulting report allows fabrication companies to compare their frm with frms of similar size. The MIA is using the data derived from the survey to create a one-of-a-kind Web portal that contains statistical data, de- sign trends, housing information and more. While the survey questions were posed to fabricators, the re- port ofers relevant information for suppliers and international companies seeking information about the North American mar- ket. The report also highlights key diferences between fabri- cators' operating manuals versus automated production facilities. The results of this study are posted by the MIA's Indus- try Research and Information Department on the MIA's on- line industr y statistics Web portal. To learn more about upcoming studies, go online to www.marble-institute.com/data. unique is that, rather than lining up typical vignettes, we've created an au- thentic 'experience' in the form of two individually styled New York City apart- ments," says Hans Henkes, president and CEO of SieMatic Möbelwerke USA. Chicago-based designer Mick de Gi- ulio conceived of the concept for the layout of the revamped showroom. De Giulio's concept was brought to frui- tion with the collaboration of designer Mick Ricereto and the SieMatic team at its German headquarters under the direction of André Backemeier, head of corporate architecture and design. Cutting the ribbon at SieMatic's grand reopening were (l. to r.): Kate Flaherty, Merchandise Mart v.p. of leasing; Ulrich W. Siekmann, SieMatic CEO & owner and Hans Henkes, SieMatic president & CEO.
