14 | Kitchen & Bath Design News April 2014 Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } Ronbow Expands North American Operations Fremont, CA — Luxury bath furniture and sink manufacturer Ronbow Corp. has announced plans for a new world headquarters and North American Distribution Center. With over 200,000 combined square feet of new space, the locations will employ 50 individuals, with plans for additional hires to support the company's growth – projected to reach more than 30 percent over 2013 numbers. Company ofcials noted an improved U.S. housing market, both in the new construction and renovation sectors, played a factor in the decision. Located in Fremont, CA Ronbow's new global headquarters, encompassing 36,000 square feet, will include the company's customer service, accounting, product development, marketing, sales and operations divisions along with training facilities and a product showroom. The new North American Distribution Center, located in neighboring Livermore, CA covers 180,000 square feet, which the company will use for distribution to dealers and distributors in the U.S. and Canada. Twenty employees will staf the energy-efcient facility, with ample room for expansion as needed, the frm notes. Watermark Recognizes Million-Dollar Firms Las Vegas, NV — Watermark Designs presented two of its manufacturer representatives with awards recognizing that they had exceeded one million dollars in sales of Watermark Designs prod- ucts in 2013, making them the newest members of Watermark's million dollar club. Steve Toor and Jerry Williams, principals of ST Sales and WMS Decorative Resource, respective- ly, were on hand to accept the custom-designed awards in their honor. "I am proud to recognize this year's top per- formers for their outstanding work. Hitting this milestone in this highly competitive sector takes enormous dedication," said Avi Abel, president of Watermark Designs. "All of our reps do fantastic work as brand ad- vocates, but when a frm or – in this case – two frms, meet and exceed expectations, we think it's important they be recognized," Abel added. The awards were presented during Watermark's annual sales meeting, this year held in Las Vegas during KBIS. Master WoodCraft Opens New Facility in Texas Master WoodCraft Cabinetry has opened a second manufacturing facility, located in Jeferson, TX. The approximately 60,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space is being used to manufacture the company's Euro frameless style cabinetry and its standard framed particle board cabinet. The frm reports that its sales have grown over 300% in the past 24 months, which necessitated the expansion. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art CNC controlled panel processing equipment, as well as a roll coat fnishing line and low-pressure melamine processing line. Master WoodCraft is also currently in the process of equipping a UV water-based fat line fnishing system to match its fnishing technology at its Marshall, TX facility.
