Kenneth F. Fey will be heading up the new subsidiary as president and chief executive ofcer, according to the company . "SCHOCK North America, Ltd. has been created to address and service the increased demand in the North American markets for SCHOCK- branded exclusive products such as CRISTADUR and CRISTALITE PLUS granite composite sinks," stated Ralf Boberg, CEO of SCHOCK GmbH. T h e n e w subsidiary will a d v a n c e t h e company's strat- egy to broaden SCHOCK's mar- ket presence in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Op- erating from a new distribution facility and ofces based in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia, initial operations with a starting inventory of 7,000 sinks began last month. Fey comments, "SCHOCK is the original inventor of granite compos- ite sinks in Germany, holding over 90 patents. With the recent factory ex- pansion in Germany, we now have an additional 20% increased production capacity to drive the brand, support- ed by new designs, colors and sizes tailored specifcally for U.S. designer and consumer trends. For 2014, the company is launching two materials in 12 sink models and 14 colors. In addi- tion to this, we have 10 faucet models, with several ofering matching color sleeves to the sink, a spring-arm pre- rinse model and a combination faucet/ flter tap."
