Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } Eight Cities Targeted For 2014 Seminar Series Melville, NY — Eight new cities, beginning next month, will be targeted for a series of all-day seminars being produced by Kitchen & Bath Design News in key U.S. markets throughout 2014. KBDN 's latest annual educational initiative, scheduled to kick of Feb. 20, will be brought to cities that include Fort Lauderdale, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Seattle, Denver, Stamford, CT and Dallas, according to Publisher Emeritus Eliot Sefrin. Tentative 2014 dates and targeted cities are as follows: Feb. 20: Fort Lauderdale metro area March 13: St. Louis metro area April 30: Philadelphia metro area May 29: Milwaukee metro area June 26: Seattle metro area Sept. 18: Denver metro area Oct. 23: Stamford, CT metro area Nov. 13: Dallas metro area Specifc hotel locations – along with co-sponsoring kitchen/bath suppliers – will be announced in the near future, according to Sefrin, who is spearheading the program. KBDN's 2014 seminar series – "Art + Science: How Contemporary Design & Cutting-Edge Technology Can Increase Profts & Resonate With Today's New Clients" – was rolled out in 2013 to rave reviews and a record number of sponsors, including BEST, Delta Faucet, Elkay Mfg., Geberit, Hafele America, JennAir, Longleaf, Plain & Fancy, Rev-A-Shelf, Samsung Staron/Radianz, Showplace Wood Products and LUXE Bath Works/Twin Star International. Designed for kitchen and bath designers looking to refresh their creative talents and expand their technological skills, "Art + Science" is aimed at identifying "what's next" in design and technology so that design professionals can better address the needs of younger, less-traditional clients while increasing Vauth-Sagel Founds U.S. Division High Point, NC — As part of its restructuring in North America, Vauth-Sagel has founded Vauth-Sagel USA. The newly established company will now directly supply customers not only with country-specifc system components, but also the complete global 'Made in Germany' range. Vauth-Sagel – based in the east Westphalian town of Brakel-Erkeln in Germany – has been producing several plastic products for the U.S. market in Greensboro, NC, since March 2010 through a partnership with a local manufacturing company. On the basis of its success in the U.S. market since that time, Vauth-Sagel has now established its business, located in High Point, NC. In addition to this facility, Vauth-Sagel operates another warehouse in Chino, CA, allowing the company to provide West Coast customers with fast and efcient delivery. The product range ofers special solutions for the kitchen furniture market specifc to the U.S. and continues to be manufactured by the American production partner exclusively for Vauth-Sagel. With the new venture, customers will now have access to the entire range of Vauth-Sagel's 'Made in Germany' storage solutions. "In an economically difcult time, we have decided to focus on the American market and have restructured our operations. With the establishment of our own company, we are now embarking on the next phase. We believe we have a promising future with our new structure, our innovative products, our new customers and the improving economic environment," summarizes managing director Heinz-Otto Sagel, commenting on the newly founded company. PINSKE HONORED AS MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR Tom Pinske of The Pinske Edge, Inc. – shown here with all of the employees of the company – was recently honored by the Glencoe Area Chamber of Commerce as the 2013 Manufacturer of the Year. In recognition of this award, an open house was held for fellow chamber members and the community. The Pinske Edge has been manufacturing and selling equipment, tools and supplies to the solid surface fabrication industry since 1987. Its own solid surface shop fabricates all brands of solid surface and sells to all market segments.
