Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } Pittsburgh Site of April Art + Science Seminar Melville, NY — Pittsburgh will be the site this month of the latest in a series of all-day seminars being sponsored by Kitchen & Bath Design News in key metropolitan markets throughout 2013. The seminar series – entitled "Art + Science: How Contemporary Design & Cutting-Edge Technology Can Increase Profts & Resonate With Today's New Clients" – kicked of its eight-city 2013 tour with presentations in Orlando (February) and Palo Alto (March). The third presentation in the series is set for April 25 at the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Airport Hotel, in the Pittsburgh suburb of Moon Township. The seminar will also be presented in Mahwah, NJ (May 23), Minneapolis (June 20), Boston (Sept. 26), Chicago (Oct. 17) and Atlanta (Nov. 14). Eight leading kitchen and bath product manufacturers have committed their support thus far to the program, including BEST, Delta Faucet, Elkay Mfg., Geberit, Jenn-Air, Rev-A-Shelf, Samsung Staron/Radianz and Showplace Wood Products. Art + Science will spotlight the growing trend toward contemporary kitchens and baths that re- New Factory Planned For Rev-A-Shelf Louisville, KY — Rev-A-Shelf, the Louisville-based supplier of cabinet storage organizing accessories and LED lighting solutions, plans to break ground soon on a new manufacturing facility that will allow for the consolidation of three company locations into a single 315,000-sq.-ft. facility, the company announced. "Thirty-fve years of continued growth combined with recent acquisitions have solidifed Rev-AShelf as the North American leader in cabinet storage organizing accessories and LED lighting solutions for residential, display and casework cabinetry," said David Noe, general manager of Rev-A-Shelf LLC. "The prospect of operating out of one assembly plant plus our molding operation will be much more efcient and facilitate our needs for growth," he added. "We have confdence in the fundamental strength of the North American cabinet industry and the role organizational products and LED lighting will have in future consumer trends. "This new facility will give us the ability to better serve our current customers and allow for expansion into new market segments," he added. In addition to manufacturing, the new building will house an expanded testing facility, showrooms and an interactive training facility. The 30.45-acre Louisville tract will also accommodate future expansion, Noe said, adding that the company said it expects to break ground soon, with construction expected to take about 10 months.
