Historic Kitchen Opens Up For Entertaining After photos: Jeff Adams Photography AFTER Opening up the ceiling and exposing the pitch of the roof had an additional benefit besides creating a brighter, airier space – a steel l-beam was uncovered, creating visual interest. A skylight was also added in order to maximize natural light. Bamboo Shaker-style cabinetry was selected for both its visual appeal and its environmentally friendly qualities. The homeowners are avid wine collectors, so a designated bar area was created to showcase their wine collection, with shelves to display their collection of bar- and stemware.
