Booths Honored at Coverings 2019 ORLANDO, FL — Six booths highlight- ing creative displays of tile and stone have been honored by the sponsors of Coverings, the international tile and stone exhibition that took place recently at the Orange County Convention Center here. The six winners of Covering's "Best Booth Awards" were cited for their de- sign, creativity, display of product, use of space and overall presentation. The booths were selected from more than 1,100 exhibitors who took part in the show, event organizers said. Honored were the following: • The "Overall Best in Show" honor was presented to Torrecid, which show- cased a booth design inspired by the environment of a gastro pub. The space was designed to showcase a significant variety of ceramic appli- cations – flooring, cladding, furniture and countertops in numerous sizes, natural colors, textures and finishes. With multiple living spaces throughout, the product showcased how it complement - ed a wide range of applications. • Earning the most "Inspirational Design" was Fiandre for its hom- age to Old World Italian vintage ceramic workshops. The booth's portico featured 10 archways surrounded in Sahara Noir, a dark ceramic tile. The archways were complemented with Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, resembling the look of ancient marble. • Lamosa earned the "Best Use of Tile" award for a display that was designed to emphasize the beauty of natural materials. The booth's wood enclosure was punctuated with a series of circles showcasing one of the brand's newest ceramic tile offerings. • The "Urban Modern" honor was presented to Cooperativa Ceramic D'Imola, which show- cased three products – Bianco, Metallo and Legno. The design highlighted a range of different patterns resembling marble, metal and wood. • Ceramiche Refin earned the "On Trend In Smaller Space" award, where use of color and architectural design highlight- ed large-format ceramic tiles. • The "Lifestyle Honor" was presented to Living Ceramics, whose booth highlighted the simplicity and sophistication of a neutral palette. A series of charitable initia- tives was also announced by the sponsors of Coverings. Coverings exhibitors Mapei and Florida Tile, as well as the National Tile Contractors Asso- ciation (NTCA), announced that they'll be collaborating with the charity "Clean the World" to as- semble 1,600 personal-hygiene kits that will be distributed to in- need veterans in the Orlando area. In addition, Coverings and Freeman said they are donating tile and building materials to ben- efit Habitat for Humanity in the Orlando area. 20 Kitchen & Bath Design News • June 2019 INDUSTRY UPDATE NOTEWORTHY DEVELOPMENTS IMPACTING THE KITCHEN AND BATH MARKET Design Enhancements TM Dealer Inquiries Welcome Hardwood Range Hoods Floaang Shelves Made in America 2020 Catalog Now Available Photo courtesy of Custom Design Kitchens, Inc.
