KBIS, Modenus Aid Sandy Victims New York ��� The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) raised more than $2,300 in Modenus.com���s inaugural ���Soho Romp,��� an e���ort aimed at aiding victims of Hurricane Sandy. The one-day charitable initiative combined shopping, fund-raising and 20 design bloggers who raised money for one of the families a���ected by the October storm. ���After seeing the utter devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy, we wanted to do something constructive,��� said Jim Scott, managing director of KBIS. ���The home is what we do ��� and being able to help a family rebuild after the storm is an honor.��� The money raised from the initiative will go to a young couple who lost their home to the pres that swept through Breezy Point, Queens, during the storm last October. Modenus, through sponsors KBIS, Liebherr and Capital, brought 20 design bloggers together to shop in 10 selected stores in the Soho neigh- borhood of Manhattan in an afternoon program called, ���The Soho Romp.��� By harnessing the power of Twitter to publicize the event, attendees tweeted out their locations throughout the day, using the hashtag ���#SohoRomp.��� For each mention of the hashtag, each sponsor donated $1. An additional $500 was donated by Mr. Steam. The event concluded with a party at DOM Interiors/ ValCucine in New York. Exuberant Coat Hook ���Kangaroo��� Coat Hook, An Eye Catching Sculpture! PMI Elects 2013 Board Rolling Meadows, IL ��� Members of Plumbing Manufacturers International have elected Je��� Baldwin of T&S; Brass and Bronze Works as board president for 2013, the PMI announced. Baldwin succeeds 2012 president Stewart Yang of Kohler Co., who will continue to serve as PMI���s immediate past president, PMI said. Also elected to serve on the 2013 PMI Executive Committee were Tim Kilbane of Symmons Industries, as prst v.p.; Fernando Fernandez of TOTO USA, as second v.p., and Paul Patton of Delta Faucet Co., as treasurer. Newly elec ted direc tors at large include C.J. Lagan of American Standard Brands and Bobbi Warren of Amerikam. Rounding out the board are directors at large are: Ray Fisher of Fisher Manufacturing Co.; Peter Jahrling of Sloan Valve Co.; David MacNair of InSinkErator, and John Watson of Elkay Manufacturing Co..
