Buying Group Cites Vendors, Members AURORA, OH — Luxury Products Group, the Aurora, OH-based buying group of luxury showrooms, including many with kitchen/bath industry ties, marked "a year of tremendous growth" at its recent Spring Expo in Orlando. In welcoming members and vendors to the Expo, LBG Director Jeff MacDowell announced the approval of 10 new vendors and 27 new showroom members. The Expo featured a series of networking and social events, as well as awards ceremonies and educational sessions on a range of topics aimed at increasing the knowledge and business capabilities of showrooms and their partners. Small group roundtable meetings enabled members and vendors to share questions and ideas on a variety of best practices, the organization said. "We have an even more aggressive growth campaign planned for this year," said MacDowell, adding that LPG now has the purchasing power of more than 270 showrooms across the U.S. and Canada. "We want to expand into some geographic markets that we aren't currently serving and increase the diversity of our showroom mix," MacDowell observed. "I'm excited about the future of LPG, with our investment in technology and our focus not just on the vendor partners, but on creating the best shopping experience for customers who enter an LPG-supported showroom," he added. Among the awards presented by LPG during the event: • Peter Ollestad and Strasser Woodenworks were recognized with the Best Booth Award. • Tonya Martin of ProSource was cited for her years of volunteer service to the group. • Rick's Hardware and Decorative Plumbing was named Showroom of the Year. • Americh Corp. received Vendor of the Year honor. CNC Opens Florida Complex DAVENPORT, FL — CNC Cabinetry has opened its new Davenport, FL facility, located just outside of Orlando. To officially open the new complex, CNC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month, led by Executive V.P. Hershy Fischman. Jay Spok, director of Operations, welcomed guests to the new space during his opening remarks. Among the guests were members of the Central Florida Develop- ment Council, who were instrumental in arranging this entire event. CFDC President & Polk County Commissioner Sean Mallot also spoke of the many economic benefits CNC will bring to the area. In addition, Robert Hunter, COO of CNC, spoke of the firm's excitement in being able to provide job opportunities for local residents. The 110,000-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art facility is an assembly and stocking site for the company's most popular lines. Strategically situated in the center of the state, the space gives CNC the ability to deliver faster in the state of Florida and the surrounding areas, while avoiding expensive common carrier cost, notes the firm. This is the company's third manufacturing plant; the other two facilities, totaling 800,000 square feet, are located in South Plainfield, NJ. CNC Cabinetry's Executive V.P. Hershy Fischman led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the company's new Davenport, FL facility.
