InSinkErator Opens New Headquarters RACINE, WI — InSinkErator is celebrating 80 years in southeast Wisconsin with the grand opening of its new 87,000-sq.-ft. headquarters in Mount Pleasant. The environmentally efficient building will house 175 engineers and professional staff. "The new headquarters and labs will ensure InSinkErator continues its industry leadership in food waste disposers," said Chad Severson, president of InSinkErator. "This building is not only a modern, pleasant workspace; it is also a world-class technology center with on-site prototyping, advanced sound-engineering facilities and unprecedented lab facilities for our experts to create the future of InSinkErator." In tandem with the grand opening, InSinkErator also announced its commitment of $200,000 over five years to Higher Expectations for Racine County, a collab- orative initiative that engages community partners, aligns efforts and maximizes resources to promote excellence and equity in education and employment out- comes in Racine County. Emerson Chairman and CEO David Farr and Bob Sharp, executive president of Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions, joined Sever- son to present the donation to Higher Expectations at the InSinkErator headquarters grand opening. "Our state-of-the-art facility needs workers to fill high-tech jobs," Severson said. "Our pledge to Higher Expectations isn't a gift; it's an investment in Racine County to ensure there are qualified workers right here in our home town." The new headquarters and lab building are designed to qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, as well as optimize pro- ductivity and collaboration, featuring: A Hemi-Anechoic Chamber Sound Lab, a 3D Printing and Innovation Area, a Commercial Solutions and Grind2Energy Lab and a Grind Test Lab and Kitchen. Hanwha Announces Rebranding of Surfaces ATLANTA, GA — Hanwha L&C Surfaces has announced the rebrand of both HanStone Quartz and Hanex Solid Surfaces. HanStone's recently released marble-look Boutique Collection was the first step toward being a more lifestyle-centric brand, notes the company. As part of the branding initiative, HanStone has created a new logo as well as implemented a new tagline: "Live Beautifully." "'Live Beautifully' is more than just physically living in a beautiful space, but is a call to live an authentically beautiful life. At best, HanStone is merely a backdrop that plays just one small part of a beautiful space and a beautiful life," said Mark Abbas, marketing director of HanStone Quartz. It is open to all industry professionals at no cost, and pro- spective attendees can register at Coverings 2019 will include more than 1,100 exhibitors from over 40 countries and feature innovations, trends and live demonstrations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend free education sessions, many of which offer CEUs. Coverings is also now accepting submissions for both the 2019 Coverings In- stallation and Design (CID) Awards and 2019 Rock Stars Awards. Both programs honor leaders within tile and stone. "Coverings is proud to build awareness for – and foster relationships with – the best in the business by highlighting inspiring projects and young leaders," said Jennifer Hoff, president of Taffy Events, the management company for Coverings. The CID Awards recognize outstanding design and installation in residential and commercial tile and stone projects. The entry deadline is December 17, 2018. The 2019 submission categories include tile installation, tile design, stone installation and stone design for both residential and commercial projects. Coverings' Rock Stars Awards is also now accepting submissions for 2019. All nominations must be submitted by December 17.
