Cabinet combinations are stealing the spotlight in current kitchen designs, with cabinet pairings ranging from dark to light and gloss to weathered. Mix and Match he tuxedo look in the kitchen has enjoyed a healthy run, with contrasting cabinets and countertops in all shades of white and super-dark tones providing just the right touch of drama. Building upon that concept, many of the latest kitchen designs sport colors and materials that, while opposite, form a cohesive look when paired together. Glossy white cabinets provide the ideal backdrop for cement looks and weathered woods, while warm neutrals of gray and taupe play well with the up-and-coming brights of navy, teal and seafoam green. Today's kitchens are mixing styles as well, with simple Shaker cabinets on the perimeter playing a supportive role to more ornate islands and time-worn pieces. Wood elements are getting a great deal of play, with lighter tones garnering the lion's share of interest – especially bleached and natural finish options. Painted finishes in just about any hue work with the pale woods, yielding looks that range from light and airy to dark and dramatic. KBDN's 35th annual 'Kitchen Cabinet Style & Design Guide' provides a look at cabinet manufacturers, the types of products that they offer and their distribution channels. It is designed to provide key information to help cabinet specifiers keep abreast of the products that are currently available on the market. Since cabinet lines and offerings change frequently, KBDN suggests that product specifiers contact the companies directly when needing additional information. *4-B WOOD SPECIALTIES 255 West Greenwich Rd.
