Glorious Flooring eutral ceramic tiles and woods of all shades have long been pop- ular staples on the floors of kitchens and baths. Easy to maintain and elegantly blending into the design, these options were among the top choices for many years. Shifts toward bolder patterns and colors, rustic pieces such as re- claimed wood and industrial elements such as concrete have upped the ante in today's style selection. Technological advances have also wielded their influence, delivering ceramics, porcelains and laminates that mimic natural wood and marble, as well as man-made stones that can hold up to any destructive elements a busy family can impart. On this and the next two pages, Kitchen & Bath Design News samples some currently trending flooring options for the kitchen, bath and other rooms. 1. The new porcelain tile collection from M S International reflects the weath- ered look of wood floors in Early American farmhouses. Upscape tile features period details, and is available in matte finish. Circle No. 200 on Product Card 2.
