BIZCON Conference Registration Opens CHARLOTTE, NC — Registration is now open for BIZCON, the business skills conference for the kitchen and bath industry produced by the SEN Design Group. The two-day conference, designed to provide the fundamentals of starting and running a successful kitchen and bath firm, will be held on October 4 and 5, 2018 near Austin, TX. BIZCON will tailor business literacy training to the needs of kitchen and bath dealers and designers. Sessions will include a "Kitchen & Bathletes Challenge" to understand business finances; a designer/installer panel focused on how to collaborate for the best consumer experience; "The Big Shift in Marketing," ad- dressing buyer journey strategies, and "The Leader Within" to cultivate a culture of resilience in leadership. Amanda Steinberg, entrepreneur and founder of financial media company DailyWorth, will present the keynote address, "The Money Game," designed to get attendees to think about their finances and prosperity in a whole new way. BIZCON follows the inaugural business conference produced by SEN, NEXTgen, which was held last October. "We knew we had a winner on our hands last year, so we expanded it for 2018, adding more speakers from outside the industry, while still remaining focused on the specific financial skills needed to profit from your kitchen and bath firm," said Leah Peterson, SEN exec. v.p. "Not to mention we have alpacas," she added, referencing the Alpacas and Cocktails event in the evening, one of the many benefits from the pastoral setting for the conference at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Austin, TX. Headline sponsors for BIZCON 2018 are Medallion Cabinets, Task Lighting and industry marketing consultants, O'Reilly DePalma. Early bird registration pricing is $495.00, available through Sept. 1, 2018. For more information or to register for BIZCON 2018, visit sendesigngroup.com/bizcon. CNC Cabinetry Plans Plant Opening in FL SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — CNC Cabinetry, a manufacturer and distributor of kitchen cabinets, countertops, vanities and vanity tops, has announced plans to open a new manufacturing plant in Davenport, FL, just outside of Orlando. The plant is scheduled to open this month. At over 110,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility will act as a site for the assembly and stocking of the company's five or six most popular lines. The plant will be in addition to CNC's 650,000-sq.-ft. headquarters in South Plainfield, NJ, where all its inventory and manufacturing is based. "This is an important step for us. Our goal is to give our customers in the state of Florida and the surrounding areas the benefits of faster turnarounds and bet- ter shipping," said Nathan Indig, President and CEO of CNC. "This new facility is located right in the center of the state, which gives us the ability to deliver a lot faster while also avoiding expensive common carrier cost." CNC expects to hire a few hundred employees upon the opening of the new facility, with plans to add additional jobs in the future. 20 Kitchen & Bath Design News • August 2018 INDUSTRY UPDATE NOTEWORTHY DEVELOPMENTS IMPACTING THE KITCHEN AND BATH MARKET Keep your engineered quartz countertops and tile projects clean and free of most stains.
