Expensify WHAT IT IS: An expense report app. WHAT IT DOES: Expensify enables users to easily produce ex- pense reports, reimburse employees for work-related expenses and flag expenses that need managerial review. By photographing a receipt, a user can automatically generate an expense report and submit it for ap- proval and reimbursement. The app syncs with many major accounting and finance software programs, including Quickbooks, Oracle, Sage and Xero. Additionally, the app's ReceiptBurner can automatically import receipts from other apps, such as Uber and Spot Hero. A free individual plan is avail- able, as well as paid Team and Corporate plans. WHO IT'S FOR: Managers and employees of small and large businesses. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: Design companies whose employees travel frequently for work need a quick and accurate way to reimburse employees for work-related expenses, and Expensify enables employees to submit expenses from anywhere. Jobs posted on the Proven app are automatically distributed to over 100 major job boards, and users can also elect to have the ad posted to premium boards or shared to the company's social media pages. Once the job has been posted, Proven enables users to sort applicants, generate job posting performance reports, schedule interviews, message candidates and more. After a 10-day free trial, the service is pay-per-posting, with one job for $99 and discounts for quantities of five or more postings. WHO IT'S FOR: Business owners and hiring managers. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: Design firm owners need every advantage they can get when trying to find the right candidates to hire, and posting to 100 or more job sites at a time with one click is a massive time-saver. Proven is also a great resource for individual designers looking to take the next step in their careers. AVAILABLE SINCE: August 2012 (iOS); December 2012 (Android) WHO MAKES IT: Proven PLATFORM(S): iOS, Android, browser WHERE TO FIND IT: iTunes Store, Google Play Store, Morpholio Trace WHAT IT IS: A digital sketching app. WHAT IT DOES: Trace offers a suite of digital drawing tools for designers and architects, including an assortment of pens and other sketch media, smart fill, drawing markup capabilities, perspective finder, scale tools, custom stencils, layer management and more. In addition to drawing tools, the app also features design process management tools such as PDF and photo markup and import and export capabilities. There is a limited free version of the app available, as well as the Pro version for $7.99 per month or $19.99 for a full year. WHO IT'S FOR: Designers and architects. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: Morpholio has received quite a bit of press lately, with nods in Wired, arch daily, Archinect, Gizmodo and Architect. Trace's suite of tools can be a great help to design- ers who spend time sketching, taking measurements and editing existing drawings on the go.
