16 Kitchen & Bath Design News • July 2018 Circle No. XX on Product Card Fantini Design Awards Open for Entries NEW YORK, NY — Fantini USA has announced its second annual Fantini De- sign Awards, recognizing excellence in kitchen and bath design throughout North America. The call for entries runs through July 15, 2018 and encourages architects, designers and developers inspired by water and passionate about Italian design to submit entries at www.fantiniusa.com/designawards. Now in its second year, Fantini Design Awards offers an added category to allow both completed and future projects the opportunity to enter. "With the success of the inaugural competition in 2017, we decided to expand our category offering to give back to the architecture and design community and inspire new relationships," says Riccardo Conti, managing director, Fantini USA. Project entries will be judged by Stefano Giussani, CEO Lissoni Inc., and two design journalists, whose expertise and creativity align with Fantini's passion for innovative thinking. Qualifying projects should: be either a completed or a future project using Fantini; be completed on or after January 1, 2016 and no later than May 29, 2018 (completed projects); be located in the U.S. or Canada, and be documented with high-resolution, professional photography (completed projects) or a sketch, rendering and/or floor plan (future projects). The judges will select seven total winners from among the entries; six from the Completed category and one from the Future category. One representative per winning project will be invited on a four-day, all-expenses-paid trip in September 2018 to the Fantini headquarters on Lake Orta in Pella, Italy. Winners will stay at Fantini's new resort Casa Fantini/Lake Time, "a hospitality project that express- es the same passion for design that is embedded in the Fantini company," says Daniela Fantini, CEO Fantini. The winning projects will be announced on or before August 10, 2018. MSI Unveils New Global Brand Identity ORANGE, CA — Surfacing supplier MSI has announced a major brand update. The new branding draws from principles upon which the company was built, such as collaboration, adaptiveness and innovation, the company says. It also represents MSI's 40-plus-year evolution into the company it is today, and where it's heading in the future. As part of the branding initiative, MSI adopted a new brand color (metallic copper) and gave its website a fresh look and new URL (www.msisurfaces.com) to echo the company's modern identity. Additionally, the MSI logo was redesigned to better communicate the MSI experience, with MSI in clean lettering underscored by the company's brand essence, "Making Dream Surfaces Attainable." The new brand mark reflects the most significant change to MSI's visual history in years, but with a familiar feel, the company notes. "This logo represents MSI's future, as well as the company it has always been – one that's modern, evolving and committed to bringing affordable luxury surfaces to market," said Rupesh Shah, president of MSI. MSI sought input from its partners, customers and employees in honing its revitalized brand, which was rolled out to MSI team members at the company's recent annual strategic meeting. "This was the right time to evolve our brand – [when we're] expanding geo- graphically, experiencing exceptional growth and developing incredibly innovative products," commented Shah. "That said, we take nothing for granted. We remain humble, open-minded and embrace a 'start fresh every day' philosophy to continue growing and help prepare for unexpected challenges."
