Plumbing Pinnacles he Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association has once again recognized leading luxury plumbing and hardware products, honoring a distinctive few with its Product of the Year awards. The awards were presented at the 16th Annual DPHA Conference and Product Showcase, held at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ, in early October. The awards program recognizes a product's uniqueness, design, func- tionality, innovation and technological superiority. The DPHA Plumbing Products of the Year were named in five separate categories: Plumbing Fixture, Water Delivery, Furniture, Hardware and Accessory. The independent panel of judges selecting this year's award recipients were: Mary Jo Peterson, Mary Jo Peterson Design; Eliot Sefrin, founding director and publisher emeritus of Kitchen & Bath Design News; Nicole Weiland, project design manager for the residential division at Charleston Building and Development, a luxury custom home builder in the Chicago area; Alissa Ponchione, managing editor, Hospitality Design magazine; and Lindsay Crozier, director of interiors at Made LLC, a design build practice in New York. Also included this year is the inaugural Dealer's Choice Award. All DPHA members had the opportunity to vote for the product they believe stood out as the most innovative, design forward, functional and tech- nologically superior among the more than 160 products entered into the 2016 DPHA Product of the Year competition. Voting began Feb. 1 and ran through March 15, 2017. The DPHA honored the following products: Plumbing Fixture FIRST PLACE Freestanding Tub Backs Against Wall Created by British architecture and interior design studio Conran + Partners, Victoria + Albert's Eldon Tub is a back-to-wall bath that has the curvaceous lines of a freestanding tub, yet sits flush against the wall for greater space saving and ease of installation. The tub is wrapped with a crisp edge that forms a natural shelf against the wall to hide pipework and provide a platform where plumbing could be deck-mounted if desired. The Eldon can be installed with or without an overflow.
