Cosentino Seeks Design Entries NEW YORK — Cosentino Group has announced its 2017 Cosenti- no Design Challenge. Now in its 11th year, the initiative challenges architecture and design students from institutions and universities across the U.S., Europe, Asia and South Pacific to research and conceptualize space and layout design, using Cosentino materi- als as their medium. "The Cosentino Design Chal- lenge is rooted in principles that make up the very fabric of our company," says Lorenzo Marquez, v.p. of marketing for Cosentino North America. "Be- yond the design theme for the challenge, this contest allows us to help educate future pro- fessionals on the crucial role innovative materials must play in every project and how to have respect for the environment. Each year we're so inspired by the presentations, concepts and dialogues that surface. We look forward to receiving the entries." The 2017 Cosentino Design Challenge has two categories: Architecture and Design. Archi- tecture students are challenged to reflect on "Cosentino and Travel," while design students are to focus on "Cosentino and Technology." Entrants are given creative liberty with one require- ment: each project must include at least one Cosentino product. Crosswater Opens Showroom MILFORD, MA — Crosswater London, the luxury bathroom manufacturer, held a grand opening for its newly completed showroom and training center in Milford, MA. The opening was attended by more than 100 principals from Forte Showrooms throughout North America, in- cluding the U.S. and Canada. Crosswater is a subsidiary of Bathrooms Brands, the UK bathroom manufacturer. Now launched in North America, Crosswater recently acquired Ammara Designs and plans to build market share with both brands. Submissions are being accepted now through June 7, 2017, via the com- petition's website, www.cosentino designchallenge.org. All Cosentino Centers and Cosentino City showrooms around the world are open to participat- ing students so they can have hands- on experience with the company's materials. The winners will be selected in June 2017 by a group of leading designers and architects; projects finishing in first, second and third place in each category will be awarded $1,000, and will be pro- moted to architecture and design media outlets around the globe. The challenge will also recognize three additional en- tries as runners-up.
