BlueStar Calls for Design Entries BLANDON, PA — The BlueStar 2017 Kitchen Design Contest is now open for entries. The contest honors design professionals who incorporate BlueStar products into innovative kitchen designs. One Grand Prize winner re- ceives BlueStar appliances for his or her home kitchen, the title BlueStar Kitchen Designer of the Year plus a trip to New York City for the 2017 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Six Regional Winners will also be named. Heidi Piron, of Heidi Piron De- sign & Cabinetry, in Summit, NJ, took the top prize in BlueStar's first Kitchen Design Competition in 2016. All kitchen design entries must be submitted by Feb. 1, 2017, and all submitted kitch- ens must have been completed no earlier than the 2014 cal- endar year. The kitchen design entry can be any style kitchen. A minimum of one BlueStar kitchen appliance as the primary appli- ance is required. Official rules and entry criteria can be found on the company's website. Coverings Needs Young Rock Stars ARLINGTON, VA — Coverings, the North American global tile & stone ex- hibition, is seeking nominations for its 2017 group of "Coverings Rock Stars," an award that recognizes the best up- and-coming young professionals in the tile and stone industry. Selected by a committee of industry leaders, each individual will be awarded based on his or her impact on the tile and stone industry along with previous industry recognition. "Now in its third year, this program highlights the industry's greatest young leaders, entrepreneurs, inventors and game-changers," said Alena Capra, Coverings' industry ambassador. "This next generation of professionals is lay- ing the groundwork for the future of the industry, and we're looking forward to celebrating their talents and achieve- ments at Coverings." Rock Star nominees must be 35 or younger, and currently employed by or as an architect, designer, distributor, retailer, contractor, installer, fabricator, specifier, trade association, or manufacturer in the tile and stone industry. Nominators must also be active and experienced in the tile and stone industry. Award winners will receive a one-night hotel stay in Orlando to attend Coverings, will be featured in online and onsite promotions and will be honored, along with their nominators, at an awards breakfast at Coverings. To nominate a qualified indi- vidual, complete a submission form at coverings.com/Rock- Stars.
