NAHB Announces Leadership Changes LAS VEGAS — Members of the Na- tional Association of Home Builders elected four senior ofcers to top leadership positions within the federation during the association's International Builders' Show in Las Vegas last month. Taking the helm as NAHB's chairman of the board this year is Ed Brady. "Our focus in this critical elec- tion year is to ensure that housing remains an important national priority," said Brady. "NAHB will work with congressional leaders on both sides of the political aisle and the eventual Democratic and Republican presidential nom- inees to promote policies that encourage homeownership and afordable rental opportunities for all Americans." Other board appointments in- clude: Granger MacDonald, frst vice chairman of the board; Randy Noel, second vice chairman of the board, and Greg Ugalde, third vice chairman of the board. The 2015 NAHB Chairman Tom Woods remains the imme- diate past chairman. Rounding out the association's leadership is NAHB Chief Executive Ofcer Jerry Howard. Previously, Howard was NAHB's chief tax counsel. In additional news, NAHB's Chief Economist David Crowe will be retiring on March 18 of this year. Robert D. Dietz, Ph.D., NAHB v.p. for Tax and Market Analysis, will succeed Crowe. "Our members have relied on Dr. Crowe for his insightful analysis during a very rocky time in the home build- ing industry," said NAHB CEO Jerry Howard. "His skill and his clear eye were invaluable as our builders and remodel- ers did their own strategic planning to make it through the economic down- turn. National decision-makers and reporters have always counted on Dr. Crowe to discuss what's behind the numbers in a way that was both un- derstandable and approachable." In this position, Crowe developed and implemented the Leading Market Index, an innovative model that has estimated the net economic impact of new home construction in over 600 markets.
