16 | Kitchen & Bath Design News | October 2015 What's App O nce a high-tech novelty, apps have become a way of life for many design professionals who go nowhere without their smart phone or tablet. Whether tracking fnancial expenditures, mak- ing project notes on site, organizing info or staying in touch with clients, apps can lighten the work load and streamline and simplify everything from drawing and designing to ordering, pricing, tracking shipments and more. Business apps can help with everything from tracking the competition's social media posts to storing and securing confdential information, while the newest manufacturer apps help designers and their clients with a variety of functions, including comparing and visual- izing diferent color combinations, custom designing products, fnding up-to-date product specs and more. This month, KBDN looks at several apps of interest to kitchen and bath dealers and designers. Sub-Zero & Wolf Mobile Specs App WHAT IT IS: The Sub-Zero and Wolf Mobile Specs mobile app is a "lifeline" for trade pro- fessionals who are always on the go, often at a job site or out-of-the-way locale where there is no Internet access. WHAT IT DOES: The app allows users to get exact open- ings required for all Sub-Zero and Wolf products, check plumbing and electrical placement, get illustrations with front view, side view and top view, see photos of Sub-Zero and Wolf products and check for instant new product and spec updates. Essentially, it ofers all of the information found on Sub-Zero and Wolf's online specifcations library in the palm of the user's hand – and without need for Internet access. WHO IT'S FOR: Designers, architects, builders, dealers, installers, cabinet makers and many other trade professionals. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: It provides kitchen and bath de- signers with the ability to get measurements and specs needed for Sub-Zero and Wolf products whether they're in a showroom or on the jobsite. AVAILABLE SINCE: Spring 2015 WHO MAKES IT: Sub-Zero and Wolf's internal team of product experts in collabora- tion with their digital partner PLATFORM: iOS and Android WHERE TO FIND IT: App store, Google Play store FOR MORE INFO: For more details on the Sub-Zero and Wolf Mobile Specs App, visit www.subzero-wolf.com/trade-resources/specifcations-app, and check out other new spec tools at www.subzero-wolf.com/trade-resources. Delta Vision iPad App WHAT IT IS: The Delta Vision iPad App provides the ability to envision how any faucets from Delta Faucet will look in a particular room design. WHO IT'S FOR: Anyone looking to replace a kitchen or bathroom faucet, including kitchen and bath designers, builders, remodelers and homeowners. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: To quickly and easily show a cli- ent how a new Delta Faucet will look once installed in their home. Compatible with iPad. WHERE TO FIND IT: iTunes store FOR MORE INFO: Jake Frick Danze Virtual Showroom App WHAT IT IS: The Danze Virtual Showroom app allows homeown- ers, designers and other industry professionals to view, track and select Danze products for their kitchen and bath projects. The app is new for Apple iPad and iPod users, with the Android version to come in 2016. WHAT IT DOES: The Danze Virtual Showroom app supports designers, homeowners and others in three main ways: • The Virtual Showroom is an interactive visualizer that allows users to see Danze products in diferent room settings. Users choose a room setting (traditional, transitional and contemporary choices available within the app) that best represents their style and then select a Danze product(s) that fts the room setting. The app inserts the chosen product into the image for review. Users can also upload an actual photograph of their specifc project to the app so the product image drops directly into their room shot. • The Product Search tool for all Danze kitchen and bath faucets, show- erheads and much more can help flter selections by style, collection, application and fnish to narrow down the search. • The My Products section of the app allows users to create a "wish list" of products they like. Once the products are added, the complete list and product details can be emailed and/or printed directly from the app. WHO IT'S FOR: Designers and showroom personnel helping homeown- ers to identify, search for and visualize Danze products to be used in their kitchen and bath projects. WHY KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNERS NEED IT: Guid- ing clients through the visual, aesthetic process of a kitchen/bath project can be challenging for design- ers. This app gives them a tool to show their clients how they envision the styl- ing of these "jewelry pieces" and how they will ft in the context of a larger space. AVAILABLE SINCE: August 2015 WHO MAKES IT: Danze, Inc. PLATFORM: Supported by iOS for the iPad and iPod WHERE TO FIND IT: iTunes store
