12 | Kitchen & Bath Design News | October 2015 Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } San Diego Set for KBDN Seminar Later This Month Wilmette, IL — "Art + Science," the series of all-day seminars being presented in key markets by Kitchen & Bath Design News this year, continues its 2015 run this month with a program in San Diego. The seminar series, currently in its third and f- nal year, will be presented Oct. 29 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley hotel. The 2015 program, which previously visited Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Nashville, Cleveland and Kansas City, will also be presented on Nov. 19 in Baltimore/ Washington, DC, according to KBDN Publisher Emeritus Eliot Sefrin. Corporate co-sponsors of the educational initiative include BEST, DuPont, Hafele America, Jenn-Air, Plain & Fancy, Rev-A-Shelf and Showplace Wood Products. "Art + Science" – subtitled "How Contemporary Design & Cutting-Edge Technology Can Increase Profts & Resonate With Today's New Clients" – is aimed at kitchen and bath designers looking to refresh their creative talents and expand their technological skills, and is targeted at identifying "what's next" in design and technology so that de- sign professionals can better address the needs of a younger, less-traditional client while increasing company profts in the New Digital Age. "Art + Science" spotlights the growing trend to- ward contemporary kitchens and baths that require an entirely new way of managing the space and connecting the elements of the room. Also featured is a multi-media program that presents a vision of the industry's digital present and future, including ways design professionals can leverage cutting- edge technological tools from initial client contact through fnal contract. Cosentino Opens Manhattan Center Sugar Land, TX — Cosentino Group opened its frst North American city showroom in New York last month. Located in the famed A&D; Building in midtown Manhattan, the new Cosentino City Manhattan highlights the com- pany's international growth and continued expansion in North America. More than 300 people from the city's infuential architecture and design commu- nity attended the September 16th opening reception. Top Cosentino executives were also in attendance, including Eduardo Cosen- tino, president and CEO of Cosentino North America, who made opening remarks. Designed for a metropolis setting, the Cosentino City concept utilizes digital technology to enhance the product selection and customization experience, according to the company. A state-of-the-art LED sample viewing program allows architects, designers, project managers and consumers to experience the wide range of Cosentino products, including Dekton ultra-compact surface and Silestone natural quartz. The 3,000-sq.-ft. City center also features a lounge, kitch- en display areas and technologically advanced workspaces where trade professionals can work on project development. Staf members are on-hand to ofer information and assis- tance to customers using interactive technologies. The Cosentino City Manhattan is only the third of its kind in the world, with locations in Singapore and Sydney that opened last year. Seminars Set for Chicago, Phoenix Wilmette, IL — Chicago and Phoenix will be the fnal two lo- cations this month for the 2015 series of all-day seminars being brought to the market under the terms of an exclusive educational partnership between Kitchen & Bath Design News and the SEN Design Group. The six-city KBDN -SEN semi- nar series will conclude its 2015 run at the Cosentino/Silestone showrooms in Chicago on Oct. 7 and Phoenix on Oct. 28, accord - ing to KBDN's Publisher Emeritus Eliot Sefrin. Titled "Learn How to Double Your Sales Volume Using a Prov- en Selling System," the program will be led by SEN President Ken Peterson, CKD.
