16 | Kitchen & Bath Design News | May 2015 Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } KCMA Elects New Ofcers Napa, CA — The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers As- sociation elected ofcers and directors for 2015-2016 at the KCMA 60th Annual Conven- tion & Leadership Conference held at The Meritage in Napa, CA, April 26-29, 2015. Mark Trexler, president/ COO, Master WoodCraf t Cabinetry in Marshall, TX, was elected president and to a two-year third term on the Board of Directors. In addition, John Gahm, v.p. manufacturing, Kitchen Kompact in Jefersonville, IN, was elected v.p.; Rich Tobin, ex- ecutive v.p., Retail, MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. in Jasper, IN was elected treasurer; and Brad Boyer, senior v.p. Remodel Sales & Marketing, American Woodmark Corp. in Winchester, VA, was elected immediate past president. Elected to serve three-year terms on the KCMA Board of Directors were: Bill Allen, director of manufacturing, Showplace Wood Products in Harrisburg, SD; Tom Samanic, v.p. & general manager of Traditional & Builder Channels, Elkay Manufacturing Co. in Oak Brook, IL; and Stephen Wellborn, director of product research, Wellborn Cabinet in Ashland, AL. Serving as associate member representatives on the KCMA Board, Karl Rudisser, president, Blum, Inc. in Stanley, NC, was elected to his second two-year board term; and Mark Hayes, business development manager, Northwest Hardwoods in Tacoma, WA, was elected to a one-year term to fll a vacancy. Chadwick Honored by KCMA Napa, CA — Doug Chadwick, the former executive v.p. of Canyon Creek Cabinet Co., was recently recognized by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufac- turers Association for his many contributions over the years to the association. Chadwick, who recently retired, was honored during KCMA's annual meeting last month in Napa, CA. During a standing ovation, Chadwick was designated an "Honorary Member of the KCMA." The award has been presented only 38 times in the association's 60-year history. Chadwick served for a number of years on the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program planning committee. The ESP is the only nationally accredited environmental certifcation program that specifcally focuses on kitchen and bath cabinets. "I'm very humbled but honored to receive this award," Chadwick said. "My career in the cabinet industry has been really fulflling – both personally and profession- ally – and I'm very grateful to the KCMA." Bill Weaver, president & CEO of Canyon Creek, added, "Doug is well-liked and respected by everyone, and while we miss him, we wish him the best in his retirement."
