Industry Update DPHA Presents Awards at Meeting Bethesda, MD — The Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association presented a number of awards at its recent annual meeting in Naples, FL. Among the major recognitions were: Ada Aldana of Designer Plumbing & Hardware in Miami, FL as the 2014 DPHA Showroom Profession- al of the Year; Javier Korneluk of Laufen Bathrooms North America, in Miami, FL as the 2014 Manufac- turing Professional of the Year, and Ray Whitehead, Sr. of Whitehead & Associates in Davie, CA as the 2014 Representative Professional of the Year. Aldana, Korneluk and Whitehead were honored for their outstanding contributions to advance the decorative plumbing and hardware industry. DPHA also honored Monique's Bath Show- room in Watertown, MA as its 2014 Showroom of the Year. The award recognizes training and marketing programs, customer service, involve- ment and support of the industry, merchandising and innovative presentation of decorative plumb- ing and hardware within the showroom. California Faucets received the Customer Ser- vice Department of the Year Award, while WMS Decorative Resource was named Representative Agency of the Year. DPHA President Kate Brady of General Plumb- ing Supply, in Walnut Creek, CA presented the annual President's Award to Jerry Williams of WMS Decorative Resource for his "unbridled support and commitment to advancing DPHA and the decorative plumbing and hardware profession." Williams serves as a member of the Board of Directors and a vocal advocate for participation in the Association. Brady also honored Debby Stehr of Stehr Enterprises, in Gambrills, MD with a distinguished service award for her dedicated service on the DPHA Membership Committee and contributions to the organization's Board of Directors. Innovative products were also recognized during this year's annual meeting. DPHA named Lenova's Ledge Prep Sink as its Plumbing Fixture Product of the Year, Kartell by Laufen Faucet as its Water Delivery Product of the Year, Mr. Steam's iSteam 2.0 Swipe-Touch Pad Control Panel as its Accessory Product of the Year, the Furniture Guild's Sophia Vanity as its Bath Furniture Prod- uct of the Year and Colonial Bronze's Precisely Beautiful Cabinet Knob as its Hardware Product of the Year. The Product of the Year awards are presented in recognition of technological sophis- tication and design innovation. The DPHA Product of the Year Awards were judged by an independent panel of experts that included: Veronika Miller, founder and CEO of Modenus.com; Mary Jo Peterson, president of Mary Jo Peterson, Inc.; Stacy Shoemaker Rauen, senior managing editor of Hospitality Design magazine, and Eliot Sefrin, publisher emeritus of Kitchen & Bath Design News .
