The partnership was initiated by Le Cordon Bleu, which boasts graduates such as Julia Child and Giada De Laurentiis. Both companies are seeking to create a revolutionary change in the culinary space. Le Cordon Bleu Master Chefs recently tested a number of high-end cook- ing appliance brands including Dacor on myriad evaluations such as baking, convection baking, broiling and convection roasting. The tests measured the oven's speed and accuracy, evenness of heat distribution, and quality of dishes prepared. The education center determined that Dacor appliances were superior in multiple categories. "Dacor is the frst and only appliance brand to be tested and recommended by the Master Chefs of Le Cordon Bleu," notes Dacor CEO Chuck Huebner. "This alliance is the perfect pairing of two iconic brands with a rich history of cel- ebrating culinary artistry." Le Cordon Bleu believes there is value in providing students, aspiring chefs of all levels and loyal followers recommenda- tions for specifc kitchen appliances and other cooking tools and instruments to maximize their performance. As part of the partnership agree- ment, Dacor ovens and ranges will have a Le Cordon Bleu seal of excellence insigne. Additionally, Le Cordon Bleu will feature select Dacor products in its upcoming cooking classes, demonstrations and academy kitchens. Live Center in New York City was the site for an event this past June in which Grohe unveiled two concept instal- lations designed by top New York firms: Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design and Slade Architecture. Each concept design portrayed a distinct, for- ward-looking take on trends inspired by the evolution of the bathroom in modern life, and the enjoyment of water. Ghislaine Viñas present- ed "A Drop in the Bucket," which refected water as the luxury it is in many societies throughout the world. She used bold, bright blues and a nod to the patterns of Af- rica and the Ndbele tribe, and color inspiration from Dutch Delft blue. Slade Architecture's "A Mirror in the Bathroom" in- terpreted the bath as the psychological oasis with regard to urban living in tight quarters. The designers' interpretations of the experiential living concept was in response to an invitation from Paul Flowers, Grohe's senior v.p. of design, to explore how people relate to bathrooms in their homes.
