Product Review { Accessible Products } Functional Bath Products F unctional products that increase the accessibility of the space are increasingly important in current bath design. But those products are anything but sterile, institutional-looking pieces. Today's products – including touchless faucets, ADA-compliant toilets, curbless showers and grab bars – feature sleek, cutting-edge designs that refect an upscale aesthetic. Multi-functional pieces, such as fan/lights and pull-out or fltration faucets, are also making the scene. This month, KBDN looks at a selection of bath products that go beyond the basics when it comes to service and style. 1. The WhisperGreen LED fan from Panasonic Eco Products Division is an ENERGY STAR rated fan/light that provides spot and/or whole house ventilation, with added LED illumination. Utilizing only 7.5 Watts, the 80 CFM WhisperGreen LED FV08VKSE3 and FV-08VKME3 are more energy efcient than ENERGY STAR standards, the company notes, and the 12-watt LED light engine with a one-watt LED night light provides warm, energy-efcient illumination. ENERGY STAR qualifed, the drawers feature fully integrated depth to allow a fush ft with surrounding cabinetry. Wall-mounted toilets from Villeroy & Boch ofer space-saving features and are available in a range of styles. The toilets allow for easy access to the product's hardware and can be easily adjusted for height requirements. The units can be installed with rim heights ranging from 15-1/2" to 19-1/2" and can support up to 1,000 lbs. Dual-fush technology uses 0.8 gallons per half fush or 1.6 gpf for full fush.
