Industry Update { Noteworthy developments impacting the kitchen and bath market } 2013 Leadership Elected by NKBA Hackettstown, NJ ��� The National Kitchen & Bath Association has announced the association���s newly-elected 2013 Executive Committee. Elected by the Hackettstown, NJ-based NKBA were: John K. Morgan, president; John Petrie, CMKBD, president-elect; Carolyn Cheetham, CMKBD, vice president; Debra Robinson, CMKBD, treasurer; Denise Dick, CMKBD, secretary, and Alan Zielinski, CKD, immediate past president. The NKBA will be celebrating its 50th anniversary as a trade association in 2013. KBDN���s 2013 Seminar Series To Kick O��� Next Month Melville, NY ��� Kitchen & Bath Design News will kick o��� its 2013 series of all-day seminars next month in Orlando, with a new program aimed at enhancing the design skills, technical acumen and proptability of kitchen & bath dealers, designers and related industry professionals. KBDN Publisher Emeritus Eliot Sefrin announced that the new program ��� entitled ���Art + Science: How Contemporary Design & Cutting-Edge Technology Can Increase Propts & Resonate With Today���s New Clients��� ��� will open its eight-city 2013 schedule on Feb. 21, at the Four Points by Sheraton Orlando Studio City in the heart of Orlando. The seminar will also be presented in San Jose (March 26), Pittsburgh (April 25), Mahwah, NJ (May 23), Minneapolis (June 20), Ellen Cheever, CMKBD, ASID Boston (Sept. 26), Chicago (Oct. 24) and Atlanta (Nov. 14). January 2013 Executive Director Named by ISFA Orem, UT ��� The International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) has named industry veteran Chuck Sawyer as Executive Director, the trade association for the surfacing industry announced. Sawyer has been involved with the surfacing industry since 1974, originally owning fabrication shops in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, according to the Orem, UT-based ISFA. One of the prst DuPont-certiped trainers, he pioneered early fabricator training in the United States and South America. He served as cochair for the ISSFA Solid Surface Conferences and was selected Associate Member of the Year in 2001. He also has extensive sales, marketing and product development experience at both the distributor and manufacturer levels, ISFA said. ���We are very pleased to have Chuck working on advancing the association,��� said Mike Langenderfer, ISFA president. ���His knowledge, experience and industry contacts, along with the great ideas he brings to the table, will help us to revamp ISFA���s programming in the coming years.��� According to the association, initiatives for the coming year at ISFA will include: A review and development of existing and new standards, including comprehensive fabrication and installation standards for solid surfacing and quartz surfacing. A broadening of ISFA���s educational o���erings.
